May Lindstrom,The Clean Dirt - I saw this product on Spirit Beauty Lounge and realized that I already had a lot of the ingredients. So I mixed up my own version and I love it! This fantastic product retails for $60.00. Use this clay cleanser recipe to make a similar product for much, much less!
Original Ingredients: white halloysite clay, red moroccan rhassoul clay, red alaea sea salt, ascorbic acid (vitamin c), sodium bicarbonate, marshmallow root, pink rose, calendula flower, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, turmeric, ginger, vanilla planifolia bean, raw cacao.
My Ingredients for Clay Cleanser Recipe:
4 TBS Rhassoul Clay
2 TBS Redmond Clay
2 tsp powdered Real Salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp calendula powder
2 tsp rosehips powder
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp clove powder
1 tsp vanilla bean specks
1/2 tsp powdered vitamin C
1/2 tsp tumeric
1/4 tsp cinnamon
This is so simple. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir! Then pour the powder into a bottle with a cap. Leave a little room at the top so you can shake occasionally.
I love this recipe. The clay is detoxifying and cleansing. The salt and baking soda are exfoliating. The cinnamon, cocoa and vanilla give it a luxurious scent.
How to Use
Pour a 1/2 teaspoon of the powder into your hand. Run your hand under some running water and then drip the water into the powder. Mix in your hand until you get a paste. Rub all over your face for 2-3 minutes. You can also leave on as a mask. Rinse off with warm water. Follow with an amazing homemade facial serum.
Many of the ingredients in the above recipe can be substituted. The clays can be switched out for other clays such as kaolin, green clay and pascalite clay. Any kind of natural sea salt can be used. Herbal powders such as lavender, chamomile, yarrow, horsetail, ginger, angelica, gotu kola and dandelion can also be included in the recipe and substituted for the herbs listed
Use organic ingredients as much as possible for maximum benefit. Many of the ingredients for this recipe can be purchase at Mountain Rose Herbs. Amazon and ebay also have several of the ingredients required. You may already have some in your kitchen cupboard!
