Cleansing Balm

This cleanse and hydrate balm from Stark Skincare is $40 for 2 ounces. I made a similar balm and I love it. My estimated cost was $3. This balm is amazing for cleaning dry skin. I used to use all kinds of cleansers and lots of water. Since I started using my homemade version of this cleansing balm to clean my skin, my pores are much smaller and I have had almost no breakouts. As soon as I try a water based cleanser my face breaks out!

Actual Ingredients: Shea Fruit Butter, Virgin Coconut Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter, Soybean Butter, Candelilla Wax, Camellia Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Orange Peel Wax, Vitamin E, pure essential oils.

My Ingredients

Shea Butter 1/4 cup

Coconut Oil 1/4 cup

Candelilla Wax 2 TBS

Olive Oil 2 TBS

Castor Seed Oil 2 tsp

Grapefruit Essential Oil 15 drops

Tangerine Essential Oil 15 drops

Vitamin E 1 tsp

Clove Oil 3 drops

Melt all ingredients in a double boiler. After they are melted, take off heat and add essential oils. Stir and pour. This recipe makes about 7 ounces or will fill 3 2 ounce jars.

How to Use

Rub all over face and eyes if there is eye makeup. Massage into skin for 2-3 minutes. Get a washcloth slightly wet with hot water. Use hot washcloth to clean off face and eyes. Follow with a moisturizer. You may also use this amazing balm for a facial moisturizer and lip balm.

I cannot say enough good about this product. When I travel it is all I take with me. The candelilla wax seems to absorb into my skin really quickly and leave it super soft.

My skin is so much better since I started using it. My pores are much smaller and my face does not dry out or get oily.

Where to Buy Ingredients

Most ingredients can be purchased at Mountain Rose Herbs. I had to get the candelilla wax from Making Cosmetics. Many of these ingredients can be purchased at your local health food store.
